Emma joined our family in late 2005. Here we are, June 2007, and she has NEVER had a haircut, not even a trim. Her hair is getting really long and straggly so the time has really come to do something about it. I have no vision whatsoever with these things - any input? Bangs or not? I know I don't want her hair short, but that's about it... what do you see working well given the shape of her face?

Hi Julie,
I would say that Emma could go with a bang or without. If you decide on a bang I would go with a thin whispy bang. No matter what you decide Emma will be as gorgeous as ever. When do you go to have her first haircut? Please do share pix.
I think bangs would be adorable on her. A word of caution, though. They are SUCH a pain to grow out. Still, if she has those baby-fine hairs on her forehead, sometimes you need to wait until they're older to let them grow in, then bangs would work well for that. Just a thought.....:-)
I fought hard against bangs but got so tired of fighting about a bow and keeping the hair out of her eyes so I gave in and did very little bangs. I don't really have advice but I can tell you that photo is beautiful!!!
I think she'd look cute with some bangs! I finally had to give Camdyn some bangs when she was about 2 because it was so hard to always have to have her hair up with a clip, elastic, etc. Otherwise it was always in her face and looking messy.
Either way, make sure you share some pics.

She's so beautiful! I have Olivia's hair in a bob - shorter in the back angled on the sides with a teensy tinsy bit of bangs b/c someone trimmed them and now I have to let them grow back out. That being said, her hair tends to grow at an inconceivable direction so I keep hers pulled back with a small rubber band with a bow. O looks better with her hair off her face. It's still so fine and wiry so who knows what the next year will bring.
Whatever you decide, I can't wait to see pictures.
My suggestion would be a longer bob, with bangs. Emma has a similar face shape to Jazzie's. Plus, for summer, I think it would be nice to have those bangs out of her face when swimming, etc.
I like the no-bang look. Whatever you decide, Emma will be gorgeous!
Though I seem to go out with a bang on most things, on Search and Destroy I have fought the bang thing. I think they are (less stereotypical) for the whole china doll thing without the bangs. That said, the bangs are WAY less maintenance.
Your daughter is gorgeous. She can sport a pixie if you so chose.
I am envious of the length on Emma.
