Commercial

What do you think of this commercial for The Royal Bank of Canada? Opinions are mixed on one of the adoption boards I read. I like the ad. Here's the address if the link doesn't work: http://www.canadianadvertisingclub.com/?id=20523

I can't see the ad on-line, but I saw it a few weeks ago during a hockey game (we have a hockey package and they often show Rogers net or TSN). I liked the ad. It was very subtle, it never said WHERE the girl was born, it simply stated that their daughter was not born in Canada and they wanted a way to visit their daughter's home country.

Why are people upset by it? I loved seeing the family together and the concept that this is a normal family situation, because it is normal.

It almost made me cry the first time I saw it. In a good way.

Hey Julie,

I also like this commercial. I think it's so neat to see things like this as a "normal" family situation. I am not sure why some people got their backs up but I thought it was sweet. A few friends called to ask if I had seen it as they also thought "how neat" it was to see on TV.

I liked the commercial, and thought it was tastefully done. And yes, it is a normal family situation.

I like the commercial. Not sure what people have against it. Guess I want to look for the good in things rather than the bad and I believe RBC had the best of intentions when they made it.
